Full Season Overview

How Term 3 Fits
The Bigger Picture

Term 3 S&C runs the full 10 weeks. Rep Ready Phase 1 overlaps the final three weeks of term. The spring holiday intensive peaks you right before tryouts.

If you're doing Term 3 S&C and adding Rep Ready, the advice is simple: skip the Phase 1 gym sessions and add the running only. Your S&C sessions cover the gym load. The running adds a new stimulus without stacking up. Phase 2 in the holidays is a clean standalone block — no overlap with term at all.

How The Term Runs

Every term follows the same structure — test at the start, train consistently across the term, re-test at the end. The improvement is measurable and real.

Basketball Player?

Rep Ready.
Built for VJBL Tryouts.

Term 3 S&C builds your athletic base. Rep Ready is the program that peaks you for tryouts. A structured lead-up and holiday intensive designed around one goal — making sure fitness is never the reason you don't make the team.

Phase 1 (late August) runs alongside the final weeks of Term 3. Phase 2 runs across the spring holidays — clean, separate, perfectly timed for 4 October tryouts.

If you're doing both

During Phase 1, skip the gym sessions and add the running only. Your S&C sessions cover the strength load. The running adds a new stimulus without stacking on top of it. Two sessions a week — manageable for any motivated rep athlete.

Any Serious Young Athlete

Before You Reach Out

The questions Ben gets asked most by parents and athletes.

What age group is the program for?
The Term 3 program is designed for athletes aged 10–17. The training is structured around youth development principles — appropriate loading, movement quality and long-term athletic development — so it's safe and effective across the full age range.
Does my athlete need prior gym or training experience?
No. The program starts with testing day, which gives Ben a clear picture of where each athlete is at. Programs are built from that baseline — not from an assumed starting point. New athletes are just as welcome as returning ones.
What if my athlete misses a session?
Life happens. If your athlete misses a session, they simply continue from where they left off the following week. Sessions aren't transferable between groups, but the program is designed to be consistent and progressive across the term — missing one doesn't derail the whole thing.
Can my athlete do both Term 3 S&C and Rep Ready?
Yes — and it's a great combination for basketball athletes preparing for VJBL tryouts. The sessions run on completely different days (S&C on Tue/Thu/Sun, Rep Ready on Mon/Wed), so there are no clashes. During the Phase 1 overlap in the final weeks of term, Ben's advice is to skip the Rep Ready gym sessions and add the running only — your S&C already covers the strength load.
What sport does the program cater to?
Any sport. The S&C program focuses on fundamental athletic qualities — strength, power, speed and movement — that transfer across all team sports. Boys and girls train in separate groups but the training principles are the same regardless of the sport they play.
What does testing day involve?
Three simple tests: vertical jump, seated broad jump, and a 10 metre sprint. Each one measures a different athletic quality. Results are used to build each athlete's personal blueprint for the term, and the same tests are repeated at the end so improvement is documented and real.
What's included in the $400 term fee?
Everything — testing day, 10 weekly coached sessions, SiSU Daily app access, a personal training blueprint, re-test day, and an end of term progress report. No per-session fees, no hidden extras. Register before 6 July and the early bird price is $350.
